Pletcher, 81, of Indian Head, went home March 29, 2003 and forever more will dwell in the mansion of the King of Glory. Lester was born March 9, 1922 in Scullton, a son of the late Ross and Bertha (Ansell) Pletcher. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Doris (Pritts) Pletcher on Jan. 19, 2001; five brothers Earl, Lloyd, Hubert, Harold and Calvin (Alec) Pletcher and a sister Marie Pletcher. Lester leaves to cherish his memory, two sisters, Evelyn King and her husband Dean of Scullton and Dorothy Homer and her husband Thomas of Martinez, Ga., a brother Emerson Pletcher and his wife Ruth of Scullton, a special friend, Blanch Grimm of Normalville and many nieces and nephews, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. He served as a sargeant [sic] in the U.S. Army during World War II in Africa and Italy. Lester worked for many years as a carpenter superintendent with Local 2274 in Pittsburgh. He was a gifted craftsman. He was also a life member of Donegal VFW 6743. Lester attended the Pennsville Baptist Church. Lester was a special friend to anyone who came to know him. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the Clyde Brooks Funeral Home Inc., Route 711, Melcroft, where a funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday. Dr. Terry V. Murray and Rev. Robert Bixel officiating. A committal service and interment will follow in Green Ridge Memorial Park, Pennsville. When I am gone remember me with smiles and laughter.
