Pletcher, 83, of Markleton, went to be with his Lord Oct. 4, 2001, at Somerset Hospital. He was born Jan. 8, 1918, in Upper Turkeyfoot Township, a son of the late Elmer Grant and Leana Maude (Faidley) Pletcher. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers Ernest O. and Ralph, and a sister Grace Faidley. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Martha E. (King) Pletcher, sons Richard Dwight and wife Terry of Barberton, Ohio; Ernest Eldon and wife Carolyn of Williamsport. Md.; Wayne and wife Cheryl of Markleton; and Randy and wife Beverly of Somerset; daughter Linda Little and husband Frank of Acme; nine grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, brothers John C. of Markleton and Harry of Fort Myers, Fla., and sisters Ethel Vough of Markleton and Ruby Nicklow of Akron, Ohio. He retired from Agway Inc. In 1980. He was a member of the Kingwood Church of God for over 60 years and served as a church elder and Sunday school teacher. He was a retired member of the board of directors of Camp Sunrise Mountain. A former Rockwood Area School Board director, a former board chairman for Somerset County Child Evangelism, a member of the Kingwood Grange, Kingwood I.O.O.F. and the Scullton Rod and Gun Club. Friends will be received from 2 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the Humbert Funeral Home in Confluence and on Sunday at the Kingwood Church of God from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m., the hour of service. The Rev. James L. Monticue and Ernest E. Pletcher officiating. Interment will follow in Kingwood I.O.O.F. cemetery. Family suggests memorial contributions to the Kingwood Church of God.
