Plitt, aged 67, died suddenly at his home on Olinger Street, early Wednesday morning from acute indigestion. Mr. Plitt was around as usual on Tuesday but complained of a pain on his chest. He retired at his usual time, but a few hours after being in bed he called his wife and said he could not sleep and would get up and go down stairs for a while. About 1 o'clock Mrs. Plitt heard a noise and rushed down stairs and found her husband lying on the floor. Evidently he had fallen from a chair and was dead when she reached him. Mr. Plitt was one of the best known residents of Meyersdale, having lived here practically all his life. He was an upright industrious man and was employed in the mines around Meyersdale for many years. Seven months ago he accepted the position of janitor of the Lutheran Church and was giving very satisfactory service. He is survived by his wife and one daughter, Mrs. William Lloyd, of Somerset; two grandchildren, two brothers, Edward and Charles Plitt, of Meyersdale, and one sister, Mrs. Minnie Leckey, of Cumberland. The funeral will be held Friday afternoon. Rev. J. Luther Frantz, of Zion Lutheran Church, of which Mr. Plitt was a member, will be in charge. Interment will be in Union Cemetery.
