Pokryfka, 67, Rockwood RD 2, died June 14, 1987, at his residence. Born Nov. 2, 1919, in Munhall, Pa., son of the late Frank Pokrywka. Preceded in death by his father, a brother and a sister. Survived by wife of 39 years, the former Frances Ezdebski; mother, Anna Pokrywka of Munhall, Pa.; three daughters, Mrs. Eleanore Roycroft, Medina, Ohio; Mrs. Richard (Charlene) Commander of Olmsted, Ohio; and Mrs. Glenn Stern, Beachview, Pittsburgh; and three grandchildren. Brother of Francis Pokrywka, Anthony Pokrifka, Larry Pokrywka, Mrs. Josephine Harbodin, Mrs. Marcella Dospoy, all of Munhall; Sylvester Pokrifka of Pittsburgh; Raymond Pokrifka, Pynamatuning [sic]; John Pokrifka, Strattanville, Pa.; Henry Pokrifka, Homestead, Pa.; Sister M. Christina, Holy Ghost Convent, Westview, Pittsburgh and Dorothy Kostovny of West Mifflin. Member of St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, Somerset. Retired railroad engineer for U.S. Steel Co. in Homestead. World War II veteran of U.S. Army. Friends will be received 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday at the Wilbur D. Miller Funeral Home where rosary will be recited Wednesday at 8:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial Thursday at 10 a.m. at St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, Somerset, Monsignor Samuel J. Tomaselli officiating. Interment, Somerset County Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be given to the Windber Hospital Hospice program, Windber, Pa.
