  Ethel M. Bittner Polak, 76, of Somerset, formerly of Listie, died
  Jan. 9, 1985, at Maple Mountain Manor.  Born March 16, 1908, in
  Listie, daughter of the late Frederick and Nina (Grine) Beech. 
  Preceded in death by her first husband, Norman Bittner; and second
  husband, Michael Polak.  Survived by these children: Mrs. Philip
  (Nina) Stevanus, Friedens RD 2; Norman Jr., Richmond, Va.; Ronald,
  Stoystown RD 3; and Robert, Claremore, Okla.; also, 14 grandchildren
  and three great-grandchildren.  A sister of Mrs. Margaret Tipton of
  Friedens and George Beech of Port Richey, Fla.  Member of Friedens
  Lutheran Church.  Friends will be received 7 to 9 p.m. Friday
  (today), 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the Wilbur D. Miller
  Funeral Home.  Funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday at
  Friedens Lutheran Church with the Rev. James Ling and the Rev. Harold
  Andrus officiating.  Interment, Berlin Cemetery.  Her remains will lie
  in state at the church one hour prior to funeral service.
