    Mrs. Bertha E. Poleman, 66, died April 15, 1978, in Frostburg,
  (Md.) Community Hospital.
    Born in Avilton, Md., she was a daughter of the late Charles and
  Linne (Layman) Chaney.  Her husband, Ira Poleman, preceded her in
  death.
    She was a member of the Mt. Zion Methodist Church.
    Surviving are a son, William Poleman, Kirtland, Ohio; five
  brothers, Harry Chaney, Ellis Chaney and Donald Chaney, all of
  Frostburg, Md.; Earl Chaney, LaVale, Md.; and Lee Chaney, Cresaptown,
  Md.; three sisters, Mrs. Marguerite Blocher, Frostburg, Md.; Mrs. Lula
  Smiley, Chula Vista, Calif.; Mrs. Ann Durst, Hopwood; and four
  grandchildren.
    Services were conducted Tuesday at the Newman Funeral Home with the
  Rev. Mrs. Sadie Triplett officiating.  Interment, Mt. Zion Cemetery.
