Policicchio, 80, Boswell, died July 26, 2002 at UPMC Lee Regional. Born Jan. 20, 1922, in Boswell, son of James and Jennie (Trigona) Policicchio. Preceded in death by parents; an infant brother, brothers, Tony, John and Bruno; and sister, Rose Maruca. Survived by daughters, Damian married to Tom McNeil of Belle Vernon; grandchildren, Celine and Thomas. Loving brother of Annetta Lamonica, Caroline Baird and Marshall, married to the former Andrea Franke, all of Boswell. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews; special cousin, Bruno Policicchio, Boswell, and loving companion, Phyllis Melker, Johnstown. Member of All Saints Catholic Parish; Fraternal Order of Police No. 62; Boswell Lodge 1780, S.O.I.; Boswell Post 461, American Legion; Boswell Area Historical Society; Somerset Post 554, VFW; Our Lady of the Laurel Highlands Council 8908, K. of C., which will have Rosary service at 7 p.m. Monday; and Father David Dodson Assembly 2201, K of C, which will stand guard Monday evening at the funeral home. A 1938 graduate of former Boswell High School. Volunteer for Boswell Food Pantry and Meals on Wheels. U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. Retired lieutenant for the Pennsylvania State Police with nearly 32 years service. Former employee of Hoffman Funeral Home, Boswell. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Hoffman Funeral Home, Main Street, Boswell, where vigil for the deceased will be held Monday afternoon. Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Tuesday at All Saints Church, Boswell, the Rev. Father Michael Lewandowski, OFM Conv., celebrant. Committal, Mount Carmel Cemetery, near Jennerstown.
