(Toath) Wanko-Polinsky, 84, Jerome, died Oct. 26, 2003, at the home of her daughter, Carol. Born Nov. 19, 1918, in McKees Rocks, daughter of Andy and Susie (Harmon) Toath. Preceded in death by parents; first husband, John Wanko, 1962; second husband, Chester Polinsky, 1993; grandson, Frankie Reynolds; granddaughter, Barbara Marie Wanko; brothers: Mike, Andy and John Toath; infant brother Joseph Toath; daughters-in-law, Judith (Ott), Darlene (Rayman) and Judith (Fitzpatrick) Wanko. Survived by these children: Mary Catherine, married to Frank A. Reynolds, Pittsburgh, John G. Wanko, Sr. married to former Elaine Hite, Richland, Carol L. married to Edward Shields, Davidsville, and Ronald M. Wanko, Jerome; 10 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and sisters, Anna, married to Steve Pluta, Bay City, Mich., and Irene Gaudlip, Johnstown. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and in-laws. Retired seamstress for several local garment factories, having worked for 40 years. Past president of Local 424 ILGWU, and past presiden of Westeran District Council 424 and 445 ILGWU. Also served as chairperson from 1954 to 1988 in various local garment shops. Active member of the Jerome Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary for 50 years, having served as treasurer for 42 years and organized many banquets, weddings and fundraisers. Also member of SS. Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church, Jerome. Friends were received Tuesday evening and will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Hoffman Funeral Home, Route 403 and Church Road, Davidsville, where the Jerome Fire Department Auxiliary will have a service at 3 p.m. Wednesday and Panachida will be held at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday. Christian burial with divine liturgy will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at SS. Peter and Paul Church, the Rev. Father Daniel Loya, celebrant. Interment, church cemetery.
