He was born in Garrett July 28, 1904, a son of the late Lee W. Pollard. He is survived by his daughter, Mrs. Rosemary Sheehan; his mother, Mrs. Lee W. Pollard; brother James and sister, Mrs. Mary P. Thompson, all of Miami and sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Friedline of Meyersdale; and a granddaughter, Rosalyn Leigh Sheehan. Mr. Pollard was a resident of Miami for 42 years. After graduating from the University of Miami, he was a physical education teacher and basketball coach at Ada Merritt junior high school for 12 years. He joined the Navy in 1941 and retired in 1942 because of an illness contracted while in service. Service was held June 16 in Lithgow Funeral Home. Burial was in Southern Memorial Park in Miami.
