Pollock, 61, of Friedens, died March 2, 2001 at Somerset Hospital. Born Dec. 31, 1939 in Central City, the son of Edward J. and Christine (Shego) Pollock. Preceded in death by his mother. In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife of 40 years, Rita (Schnell); two sons, Edward Jr., married to the former Cheryl Ogline of Friedens and Douglas E., married to the former Jillian Ferguson of Cannonsburg; three grandchildren, Melissa, Vincent and Cole; two brothers, William, married to the former Pauline Phillips of Central City, and Mark, married to the former Gloria Mihelcic of Greensburg; one sister, Carol, married to Ronald Anderson, Albrightsville; and close friends of 30 years, Charles and Judy O'Baker. He was a sales engineer at Allegheny Manufacturing and Electrical Service of Johnstown. He was a veteran of the Vietnam conflict. Member of St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, Somerset; Vietnam Veterans Association of Somerset, Shanksville American Legion and Mining Electro Mechanical Maintenance Association, Mon-Valley Chapter. He was an avid fisherman. Family will receive friends from 2 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown, where a vigil for the deceased will be held at 3:45 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, somerset, with Msgr.
