Poorbaugh, 86, died Dec. 19, 1981 at the home of her daughter following an extended illness. She was born in Meyersdale on Nov. 27, 1895, and was the daughter of the late Charles and Minnie Louise (Kroushour) Deist. She also was preceded in death by her husband, John Poorbaugh. Mrs. Poorbaugh had resided in Roaring Springs the last two years and prior to that she was a resident of Corriganville, Md. She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Corriganville, having been active in the church for 66 years. She also was a member of McKinley Chapter 12, Order of Eastern Star, Cumberland, Md.; and the Dames of Malta, where she served as queen. She is survived by a son, Paul A. Poorbaugh, Corriganville; two daughters, Mrs. Anna Louise Stump, Roaring Springs, with whom she resided, and Pauline A. LaFontaine, Orlando, Fla.; two sisters, Mrs. Ella Shrader, formerly of Frostburg, Md.; and Mary Folk, formerly of Springs; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Hyndman was in charge of arrangements. Services were conducted at St. John's United Church of Christ, Corriganville, with the Rev. James D. Myers officiating. Interment was in Mount Lebanon Cemetery, Glencoe. The Republic, December 24, 1981 [P0803]
