Potomac St., Hagerstown, Md., formerly of Johnstown, died June 9, 1973, in Washington County Hospital, Hagerstown. Born Jan. 8, 1887, in Glencoe, he was a son of Bruce and Ellen (Wagaman) Poorbaugh. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Herbert; two sisters and four brothers. Surviving are his widow, the former Gladys Beck; three children, Miss Vivian Poorbaugh and Mrs. Geraldine Brant, and Kenneth Poorbaugh, all of Johnstown; and a stepson, Donald Mosholder, of Orlando, Fla.; also five grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Norman Poorbaugh of Hyndman; Thomas of Glencoe; and a sister, Mrs. Mabel Shipley of Berlin. He was a member of Hagerstown United Church of Christ and Hagerstown Elks Lodge, and was a retired supervisor for Fairchild Aircraft Corporation of Hagerstown. In his earlier life he was a school teacher in Northampton Township and had been an accountant for Cambria Steel Company. Funeral service was held Tuesday afternoon at Picking-Treece-Bennett Mortuary in Johnstown, with the Rev. Maurice Smith officiating. Interment in Grandview Cemetery, Johnstown.
