Pope, wife of police officer Raymond Pope of 879 Lakewood Blvd., Akron, O., died Friday, Sept. 19, 1941, in the City Hospital, Akron, after a long illness. She was born in Meyersdale, March 2, 1895, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Frease. She resided in Akron for 25 years. Besides her husband, she is survived by two sons, Doyle C. and Orris R.; her father, W. A. Frease; four sisters, Mrs. Martha Parsons, her twin sister, Orlando, Fla., Mrs. Edith Lavis, Mrs. Emma Snyder, and Mrs. Anna Hall, and one brother, Lin Frease. Mrs. Pope possessed a fine Christian character and was happiest when busy in her home and church, and was always concerned about the welfare of her friends. She united with Amity Reformed Church, Meyersdale, when very young, and transferred her membership to Grace Reformed Church, Akron, when she moved there, where she remained an active worker as long as health permitted. Funeral services, which were attended by many sorrowing friends, were held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 at Grace Reformed Church, followed by burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
