Born Aug. 16, 1925 in Goodtown, son of John Sr. and Alice (Wasilko) Popovich. Preceded in death by parents, brothers Paul and Nick, an infant daughter and a son, Andrew. Survived by his wife of 48 years, the former Margaret A. Trulick and these children: Sam, married to the former Cathy Weyand, Joseph and Frank Jr., all of Berlin; Nancy, married to John Heist, of Stoystown; a grandson, Sam Jr.; sisters Mary Shawley and Ann Fisco; brothers Charles, John Jr., Mike, George and Steve. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Retired heavy equipment operator. Member and president of S.S. Peter and Paul's Orthodox Church, Goodtown, and a member of the Berlin Volunteer Fire Department. Family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Monday and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at Deaner Funeral Home, Berlin, where parastas will be held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. Divine liturgy and burial service will be held at S.S. Peter and Paul's Orthodox Church, Goodtown, on Wednesday following a short service at the funeral home at 8:30 a.m. Very Rev.
