  RALPH E. PORTER
  
    Ralph E. Porter, 73, of Cumberland, Md.; died Dec. 31, 1977, at his
  residence.
    Born in Mt. Savage, Md., he was a son of the late John and Rose
  (Lowery) Porter.
    He was a member of the Barrellville Presbyterian Church and was a
  retired carpenter, and a member and past president of Carpenters
  Local 1024.
    Mr. Porter is survived by his widow, Mrs. D. Elizabeth (Sperry)
  Porter, a daughter, Mrs. Carol Jo Hoover, Meyersdale RD 4; a son, G.
  Eugene Porter, Cumberland, Md.; a sister, Mrs. Jane Gingle,
  Arlington, Va.; two brothers, Ross Porter, Eckhart and James Porter,
  Barrellville, Md.; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
    Services were held Tuesday at the George Funeral Home with the Rev.
  Steven Washburn officiating.  Interment, Union Cemetery.
