    Clara J. "Peggy" Porterfield, 87, Confluence, died Jan. 23, 1994,
  at Maple Mountain Manor, Berlin.  Born Nov. 17, 1906, in Confluence,
  daughter of the late Silas and Edith (Dayton) Nickelson.  Preceded in
  death by husband, John.  Survived by two brothers, John L. Nickelson
  and Calvin Nicholson, both of Confluence; three sisters:  Grace
  Porterfield and Freda Hathaway, both of Lorain, Ohio, and Sara
  McCulley, Confluence; also numerous nieces and nephews.  A member of
  Confluence Church of the Nazarene.  Friends received from 7 to 9 p.m.
  today (Monday) and 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Humbert Funeral Home,
  Confluence, where service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, with Rev.
  Thomas Charles officiating.  Interment, Jersey Cemetery.
