Porterfield, 76, Lorain, Ohio, formerly of Confluence, died Oct. 20, 1984, at St. Joseph Hospital, Lorain. Born Sept. 26, 1908, in Lower Turkeyfoot Township, a son of the late James and Ida (Ream) Porterfield. Survived by his wife, Grace (Nickelson) Porterfield, and the following step-children: Alden Watkins, Don Watkins, Mrs. Clifford (Wanda) Cameron, and Jacob (Barbara) Conn, all of Lorain, Ohio; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a brother, John, and a sister, Susan Redrick, both of Confluence. A veteran of World War II and retired section hand of the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad. Friends will be received after 7 p.m. Monday at the Humbert Funeral Home, Confluence, where services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Raymond Schermerhorn officiating.
