  DEAN B. POWELL
  
    Dean B. Powell, 55, Berlin RD 4, died June 23, 1983, in Memorial
  Hospital, Johnstown.
    He was born Jan. 17, 1928, in Johnstown, son of the late R. Dwight
  and Mary Belle (Bowman) Powell.
    He is survived by wife, the former Alice Ellis, and these
  children:  Mrs. Leslie (Linda Jane) Hawthorne of Stowe, Ohio; Mrs.
  David (Mary Alice) Emert of Somerset RD 2; Mrs. Mark (Deana) Erickson
  of Altoona; David Dean, married to the former Sherry Ann Omerzo of
  Berlin; Mrs. Paul (Nancy Kay) Emert of Friedens RD 1; and 12
  grandchildren.  He was the brother of Jay H. and Raymond P., both of
  Woodbridge, Va.; and Mrs. Andrew (Lila Kay) Shontofski of Kantner. 
  He attended the Somerset Alliance Church and was a Penelec employee
  of 31 years.  Veteran of the Korean War.
    Friends were received in the Richard E. Hauger Funeral Home, where
  services were conducted with the Rev. Steve Forsythe officiating. 
  Interment, Grandview Cemetery, Johnstown.
