Born May 12, 1913, in Hooversville, son of the late Howard and Annie Elizabeth (Wingard) Powell. Survived by wife, former Mildred Aileen McCarty; four daughters, Mrs. Ray Nichols, Falston, Md.; Mrs. Raoul Anavitarte, Etters, Pa.; Mrs. Denise Callahan, York; and Venessa Powell, Pittsburgh; five grandchildren; brother, Jennings Powell, Somerset; and sister, Mrs. Evelyn Stewart, Jennerstown. Member of Park Avenue United Methodist Church, Chambersburg. Private service at 2 p.m. Saturday from Robert G. Sellers Funeral Home, Chambersburg, the Rev. Ronald S. McElwee officiating. Interment, Norland Cemetery, Chambersburg. There will be no viewing or visitation.
