   Elsie M. Powell, 80, Stoystown, went to be with her Lord, Dec. 25, 2007. Born May 13,
  1927, in Lincoln Township, she is the daughter of the late Charles and Mitilda (Pyle)
  Fritz. Also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Tammy Emerick; half brothers, Ernest
  Shaulis and Harry Pyle; and a half sister, Melda Berkey. Survived by her husband, David
  G. Powell; daughters, Jean Latshaw, Somerset; and Mrs. James (Linda) Emerick, Stoystown;
  grandchildren, Larry and Rick Latshaw, Vicky Rice and Melinda Emerick;
  great-grandchildren, Cody, Holly and Shane Latshaw and Cassidy Rice. Sister of Irene
  Gardner, Winston, Ore.; Merle Fritz, Confluence; and half brother, Floyd Fritz, Berlin.
  Former employee of Dorfman-Hoffman and she loved to quilt. Member of the Kantner Assembly
  of God Church. Friends received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the Robert H. Halverson
  Funeral Home, Somerset, where a service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday. The Rev. Tim
  Farkas officiating. Interment in Casebeer Cemetery. Contributions may be made to Kantner
  Assembly of God Church, 430 Schoolhouse Road, Kantner, PA 15548 or American Cancer
  Society, 168 W. Union St., Somerset, PA 15501.
