  POWELL
  
  James D. Powell, 82, of Stoystown RD 3 (Kimmelton), died May 9, 1988
  at his residence.  Born Dec. 20, 1905 in Shade Township, son of the
  late Willis L. and Gertrude M. (Berkebile) Powell.  Also preceded by
  three sisters:  Ethel Lohr, Marian Berkheimer and Maude Wagner; and
  three brothers:  Kenneth, Harry and J. Anson.  Survived by his wife,
  the former Catherine M. Rininger and daughters Mrs. Gloria M. Hunt,
  of Ligonier; and Mrs. Ronald S. (Nancy) Bowers, of Stoystown RD 3;
  also 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.  He had operated
  the Powell Brothers Coal Company.  A memeber of U.M.W.A. and the
  Oldtimers' Baseball League.  Friends received 7-9 p.m. today at the
  Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, where private services will be held
  Thursday, with the Reverends Ed and Brenda Fritz officiating. 
  Interment Stoystown I.O.O.F. Cemetery.  Contributions may be made to
  the American Cancer Society.
