Price M.D., 82, of Confluence died June 9, 1993, at home. Born July 23, 1910, in Swissvale. A son of the late George E. and Margaretta L. (Brackemeyer) Price. Preceded in death by his wife, the former Bertha Irene Pinchin; a son, James, and three brothers. Surviving are two sons, John R. of Jackson, N.J., and Edwin P. of Exton, and two daughters, Irene L. (Tody) Koontz of Confluence and Mary Elizabeth (Betty) Aukerman of Pittsburgh. Also 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Graduated from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine in 1935. Interned at Mercy Hospital, Pittsburgh, and Toronto General Hospital, Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Member of the Confluence United Methodist Church, Kingwood Grange, Meyersdale Lodge 554, F. & A.M., and Pittsburgh Syria Shrine. Retired surgeon and general practitioner. Former staff member at Meyersdale and Somerset hospitals. Former staff doctor at Henry Clay Villa and Spear Nursing Home, Markleysburg. Past secretary of Somerset County Medical Society. Former Sunday school teacher and lay speaker and former member of Young Men's Bible class. Former member Yough Housing Inc. of Confluence, the Confluence Lions Club. Past president of Confluence Borough Council. President of Citizens Water Company. Founder and coordinator of the Annual Easter Breakfast for 40 years. Owned and operated Price Hospital in Confluence from 1940-1962. Retired in 1992 after serving Confluence and the surrounding area for 52 years. His hobbies included carpentry, photography, electronics and playing the violin. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday and from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday at the Humbert Funeral Home, Confluence. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday at the Confluence United Methodist Church, with the Rev. John H. Snyder officiating. Interment, Monongahela Cemetery, Braddock.
