"Sam" Prinkey, 76, of Confluence died June 24, 1997, in Somerset Community Hospital. He was born May 30, 1921 in Mill Run, a son of the late Ira S. and Minnie Rouella Wells Prinkey. He was a resident of Confluence since 1958 and attended Connellsville High School. He was a veteran of WW II having served in the U.S. Army Air Force and was a former member of the American Legion and V.F.W. both in Confluence. He was a former partner in the former Prinkey-Sparks Ford of Indian Head and was also owner and operator of Mountain Chevrolet in Confluence from 1958 to 1970. He also started and was former part owner of Somerset Auto Parts in Confluence. Prinkey was a licensed real estate agent from 1976 to 1988 and worked for both Mountain Real Estate and Reid Real Estate. He was a former member of the Confluence Lion Club and was a charter member of the Mill Run Vol. Fire Dept. He was a member of the Mill Run United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, Martha Williams Prinkey with whom he celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on March 10, 1997; a sister, Mrs. Paul (Erma) Henry of Estera, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews; and great-great-nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by 2 sisters Ellen Crawford and Beryl Fullem, and an infant brother. Friends will be received in The Clyde Brooke Funeral Home Inc., Route 711, Melcroft from 2-9 p.m. today, Thursday and from noon to 2 p.m., Friday, the hour of a funeral service in the funeral home with Rev. Thomas Charles officiating. A committal service and interment will follow in the Indian Creek Baptist Cemetery, Mill Run. Daily American, June 26, 1997 [P0919]
