He was born in Meyersdale, on March 29, 1955, the son of Martha Harding and the late Ernest L. Pritt. He was also predeceased by his beloved stepfather, William H. Garman. Surviving are his mother, Martha Garman; two sisters: Peggy Pritt Raber (Robert), Sandra Garman Cline (William); nephews: Brandon, Brett and Joshua Raber; a stepson, Dennis Axelson; and a host of wonderful friends. His formal education began at Salisbury-Elk Lick schools, the Kiski School, Penn State, University of South Carolina, and lastly, Sherman College of Straight Chiropractic, where he earned a Doctorate. He opened his office, Inlet Chiropractic, in Little River, S.C. Billy also held a Captain's license from the U.S. Coast Guard and enjoyed piloting ships on the high seas. Billy was a charter member of the Elks Lodge 2679 Calabash, where he served as a chaplain. His hobby was sailing and boat building. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Lower Cape Fear Hospice and Life Care Center, 725 Wellington Avenue, Wilmington, NC 28401. He wanted you not to feel sorrow for him, but for you to rejoice in the love of your family and the beauty of nature that surrounds us. William was there for all of us, like a bridge over troubled waters a 70's song that he loved. A memorial service will be held on the high seas per Billy's request with a date to be announced.
