Pritts, 85, Palatka, Fla., formerly of Rockwood, died Aug. 5, 2004, at Putnam Community Medical Center after a long illness. He was born in Rockwood and has been a resident of Florida for the past 26 years. Preceded in death by parents, Harry Pritts and Nellie Reese Pritts; beloved stepmother, Marie Pritts; and brother, Clifford Pritts. Survived by his wife of 58 years, Elsie Durstine Pritts, Palatka, Fla.; niece, Rita Hagerman and nephew, Kenneth Pritts, both of Smithton. Everett retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co., of Akron, Ohio where he worked for 32 years. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army having served during World War II with Company C., 110th Infantry, Somerset. While in service he earned the Combat Infantryman Badge and E.A.M.E. Theater Ribbon with four bronze stars and the American Defense Service Medal. He was a rifle marksman and bayonette expert. He fought in the Normandy Invasion, Northern France, Rhineland; Ardennes. Everett was a member of Center Church of the Brethren. He loved fishing and traveling. Everett served honorably during the Korean Conflict as a reservist of the U.S. Navy. Friends may call from 12 p.m. until the time of service at 2 p.m. at Miller Funeral Home, Somerset.
