Pritts, 69 years, 3 months and 20 days old, died Monday afternoon at his home in Rockwood. He was born September 24, 1860, a son of the late George W. and Barbara Myers Pritts. He grew to manhood at Prittstown, moving there with his family when he was but about five years old. He learned the blacksmith trade with his father and later engaged in teaching. He taught one term at Walnut Hill, near Scottdale, and the remainder in the schools of Somerset County. He moved from Prittstown to Markleton, where he opened a store and about 25 years ago he took up his residence at Rockwood, where he again followed his trade as a blacksmith. He had lived retired for some time. Mr. Pritts was a member of the Church of God. Besides his wife, Mrs. Hannah Wiltrout Pritts, a native of Somerset County, he is survived by one son, Clark Pritts, mail clerk on the Johnstown & Somerset Division of the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad; two daughters, Mrs. Scott Wilkins of the State of Washington and Mrs. Howard Parks of Pittsburgh; also three brothers, J. E. Pritts of Scottdale; Miles Edward Pritts and Joseph S. Pritts of Uniontown, one sister, Mrs. Lida A. Forsythe of Connellsville and several grandchildren. The funeral service was held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Pritts home, with Rev. V. N. Miller, pastor of the Rockwood Lutheran Church, officiating.
