Garner Pritz, 64, of 720 Division St., Berlin, died Feb. 19, 1978, at his residence. Born June 4, 1913, in Jenners, he was a son of Stewart W. and Pearle (Brant) Pritz. He was preceded in death by his father and one sister, Pauline. He is survived by his mother and his wife, the former Marian Smith, and three daughters: Mrs. George (Linda) Loy of Pittsburgh; Mrs. Carol (Pritz) Meyers of Danville; and Miss Mary Martha of Berlin. He was a history-social studies teacher for 42 years in the Shanksville Area and Berlin-Brothersvalley schools. He was honored in 1977 for being the first Eagle Scout in Berlin. He was a member of the National Education Association; the Pennsylvania State Education Association; and the Berlin-Brothersvalley Education Association; the Berlin Historical Society and the First Brethren Church of Berlin. He served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II. Private services were held at the Johnson-Kuhlman Funeral Home. Interment, Berlin IOOF Cemetery. The Republic, February 23, 1978 [P1020]
