  Eugene Prokop, 71, of North Street, Shanksville died May 23, 2001 at
  home.  Born Nov. 27, 1929 in Jenners.  Son of Mike and Mary
  (Holchalk) Prokopchow.  Preceded in death by parents; wife, the
  former Eleanor R. Miller, Jan. 23, 1999; brothers Victor, Joseph,
  Stanley and Michael, and sister Stella.  Survived by these children:
  Christine M., wife of Stephen Gary Lugar, Johnstown, Lugene R., wife
  of Richard Miller, New Centerville, Michael J. married to Coralee
  Dickey, Somerset, Noreen I., Hamel and Marlene S., wife of Douglas
  Harkcom, both of Columbus, Ohio and Beth Ann Prokop, Knoxville, Tenn;
  grandchildren Stephen John Lugar II, Jason R. and Jessica R. Miller,
  Carlyle D. R. Meekins and Connor Douglas Harkcom; and sisters Helen
  Paul, Berlin and Marion.  Member of St. Mary's Orthodox Greek
  Catholic Church, Jenners where he was assistant cantor and very
  active in the church candy sales and other church functions. 
  Graduate of the former Boswell High School.  Army Veteran of the
  Korean War.  Owner/operator of the former Prokop Welding.  Family
  will receive friends from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Hoffman
  Funeral Home, Main Street, Boswell where burial service will be held
  at 7 p.m. Friday.  Divine liturgy at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's
  Church, the Rev. Father Charles M. Kovich officiating.  Interment
  Church Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be given to St. Mary's
  Church or the Shanksville Vol. Fire Dept.
