All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/somerset/ ________________________________________________ ESTHER EMILY PRUGH Grandmother of Berlin Man Dies at Age of 105 Mrs. Esther Emily Prugh, aged 105 years, oldest resident of Westmoreland County, died Friday night, Jan. 17, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Mae Reed, of Greensburg, with whom she lived for many years. Mrs. Prugh was the widow of James Henry Prugh, who was a teacher in Rural Valley for many years. He died in 1907. She was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. L. Peart, an early western Pennsylvania family. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Greensburg and up until last Thanksgiving Day, attended church regularly. She is survived by the following children: Rev. Harry D. Prugh, D.D., retired, Indiana, Pa.; Frank Prugh, Tioga, Pa.; Mrs. George Feltar, Wilkinsburg; Mrs. S. H. Herndon, Tucson, Arizona, and Mrs. Mae Reed, Greensburg. Four children preceded her in death. She is survived by 12 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren. Dr. Harry C. Prugh, a Berlin dentist, is a grandson of the aged lady. Meyersdale Republican, January 23, 1947
