He was born July 5, 1915, in Chaffee, W.Va., the son of Albert and Carrie C. (Johnston) Puffenberger. He was a retired employe [sic] of the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad Company, a member of the Brotherhood of Railway Carmen of America, a former Little League baseball coach, and a member of the Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church. Survived by his wife, Gelia (Mongold); three sons: Edgar Jr., of Severn, Md.; Carl of Somerset; and Alan of Cumberland, Md.; two sisters, Mrs. Mildred Miller and Mrs. Wanita Hamlet, both of Baltimore, Md. and seven grandchildren. Friends are being received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, at Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Richard Jacobson officiating. Interment, church cemetery.
