Puffenberger, 65, of Oldtown Road, Cumberland RD 4, Md., died Dec. 6, 1981, in Somerset Community Hospital. Born Nov. 2, 1916, in Greenspring, W.Va.; daughter of the late Carl and Elsie (Twigg) Mongold. She was a retired librarian and she worked at the South Cumberland Branch of the Allegeny [sic] County Library Association, Cumberland, Md. for 17 years. She was a member of the Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church; and she was a 1932 graduate of Pennsylvania Avenue High School, Cumberland. Her husband was the late Edgar F. Puffenberger Sr. She is survived by three sons: Edgar F. Puffenberger Jr., Sunderland, Md.; Carl L. Puffenberger, Somerset; and Alan W., Cumberland, Md.; two sisters: Mrs. Emogene Little, Cumberland; and Mrs. Helen Albright, Valley Station, Ky.; and eight grandchildren. The body is at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, Md., where friends will be received Monday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church, Oldtown, Md. Interment, Mt. Tabor Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Allegeny [sic]-Garrett County Heart Association.
