Mr. Pugh died a few hours after the accident. Attorney John Zevely, of Morgantown, W.Va., driver of the car which struck Mr. and Mrs. Pugh, was arrested following the accident and was released after posting $2,000 bond to answer a charge of manslaughter. Mr. and Mrs. Pugh were walking to Somerset to attend a Grange meeting when Attorney Zevely, who appears to have attempted to drive around another car was unable to get back in the regular traffic channel in time to avoid striking Mr. and Mrs. Pugh. Mr. Pugh suffered a fracture of the skull and passed away a few hours after he was admitted to the Somerset Community Hospital. Mrs. Pugh's injuries consisted of a fracture of the skull, fractures of both legs, a fracture of the right arm and internal injuries. She remained in a semi-conscious condition since the time of the accident and was not aware of her husband's death. Mrs. Pugh was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Custer. Her mother preceded her to the grave. She is survived by her father and the following children: Mrs. Violet Turner, of Ralphton; Mrs. Maude Wills, of Somerset; Bert Pugh, of Hooversville; Mrs. Gladys Faidley, of Gray; Ethel, Donald, Sibyl, Dorothy, Warren, Grace and Dale, all at home. She was a sister of Walter and Roy Custer, both of Hooversville, and Mrs. James Corbett, of Stoyestown. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Pugh home along the Stoyestown Road by Rev. Dr. Earl C. Weaver, pastor of the Somerset United Brethren Church. Interment was in St. John's United Brethren Church Cemetery, in charge of Charles R. Hauger, Somerset mortician. Meyersdale Republican, November 17, 1932
