She was born in Berlin, Pa., the daughter of the late Harrison and Margaret Humbert Smith. She has lived in the Trappe district since 1920, prior to that she resided in Berlin. She was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Trappe, Talbot County Woman's Club, Talbot County Historical Society and the Academy of Arts. Surviving are her husband Walter A. Pugh of Trappe, four daughters, Mrs. Jeane Valine of Oxnard, Calif.; Mrs. Nancy Harrison of Annapolis, Md.; Mrs. Peggy Yoash of Hillsboro, Md.; and Mrs. Barbara Bloodsworth of Princess Ann, Md.; a son W. Humbert Pugh of San Francisco, Calif.; three sisters, Mrs. Blanch Cook, and Mrs. Hazel Engle both of Berlin, Pa. and Mrs. Evelyn Sides of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; and 12 grandchildren.
