Purbaugh, 91, of Salisbury, died Jan. 15, 1973, in Meyersdale Community Hospital. Born Nov. 6, 1881, in Northampton Township, he was a son of the late Phillip and Ann (Miller) Purbaugh. He was preceded in death by his wife, the former H. Alcinda Meyers, and a daughter, Loreen. Surviving are a son, Clarion, of Pompano Beach, Fla.; two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Salisbury. He formerly taught school in Somerset County, was a retired auditor of West Penn Railways Company and was a charter member of the Somerset County Historical Society. Funeral service was held Wednesday afternoon in Thomas Funeral Home, Salisbury, with Rev. Ernest Rumbaugh officiating. Interment in Mt. Lebanon Cemetery.
