All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/somerset/ ________________________________________________ HENRY WILSON PURBAUGH Henry Wilson Purbaugh, retired carpenter, aged 86 years, 4 months and 9 days, died on Sunday, August 3, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Raymond Cordrey, on Beachley St., Meyersdale. He was born March 24, 1861, in Somerset County, a son of John and Sarah (Hutzell) Purbaugh, both natives of Germany. His wife, the former Emma Hutzell, preceded him in death. Surviving are four sons, Earl B., Mt. Savage, Md., Reaford, Oakland, Md., William H. and Roy, Meyersdale; two daughters, Mrs. Sarah L. Cordrey and Mrs. Marie Congleton, Meyersdale; ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Two brothers, Lee, of Mt. Vernon, O., and Erastus, of Akron, O., also survive. Friends were received at the Cordrey home, where services were held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, with Rev. Nelson C. Brown officiating. Interment was made in the Mt. Savage Methodist Cemetery, under the direction of W. C. Price & Son. Meyersdale Republican, August 7, 1947
