   William E. "Pappy" Purbaugh, 76, Garrett, went to be with the Lord March 11, 2006, at
  Meyersdale Medical Center, surrounded by his family who loved him dearly. Born May 1,
  1929, in Black Township, the son of the late Oscar and Sadie (Carolus) Purbaugh. Preceded
  in death by his brothers Samuel, James, and Charlie Purbaugh, and sisters Ellen Heining,
  Mary Albright, Viola Yoder and Alice Pritts. Survived by his wife, Alice (Shroyer)
  Purbaugh; children, William Purbaugh, Garrett, Libby, married to Jim Albright,
  Meyersdale, and Rosemary, married to Dave Nedrow, Rockwood; Peggy Wellington and special
  friend Danny Artice, and grandchildren Brenda (Walker) Collins, both of Meyersdale,
  Raymond Wellington Jr., Garrett, Jennifer Nedrow, Rockwood, Tasha Wellington, Meyersdale,
  David Nedrow, Rockwood, and Shanta Wellington, Garrett; great-grandchildren, Destiny,
  Chance and Dayton Collins; sister Elsie, married to Levi Baughman, Rockwood; and
  son-in-law Raymond Wellington, Berlin. He was a retired truck driver who was a wonderful
  husband, loving daddy and pappy, and a friend to everyone who met him. Friends were
  received by the family Monday at Miller Funeral Home, Rockwood, where a service will be
  held at 2 p.m. Tuesday. The Rev. Pete Kaltenbaugh officiating. Interment at Rockwood IOOF
  Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be sent to the Salvation Army at 140 E. Fairview St.,
  Somerset, PA 15501.
