Putman, 80, Casselman, went to be with the Lord Feb. 18, 1998 in Somerset Hospital. Born Sept. 7, 1917, in Casselman, son of the late William B. and Flora Etta (Lape) Putman. Preceded in death by brothers, James, Robert and Albert Putman; stepbrothers, Charles Trout, Clarence Trout, William "Bid" Trout and sister Viola Schardt. Survived by wife of 61 years, Ethel B. (Romesburg) Putman; daughters, Shirley, married to Harold Kaufman, Rockwood; Nancy, married to George Bowman of Casselman; and son, Rodney, married to Sara Jane Christner, Rockwood; 10 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Brother of Ida Mae McLeod of Sarasota, Fla. and Florence Peters, Rockwood. Lifetime member of Casselman United Methodist Church, where he was a long time Sunday school teacher and held various posts. Member of the Rockwood Area School Board for many years. Former employee of the B & O Railroad, Farm Bureau/Agway and retired in 1983 from Rockwood Insurance Co. Friends will be received from 7-9 p.m., Thursday and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Friday at the Wilbur D. Miller Funeral Home Rockwood, where service will be conducted at 11 a.m., Saturday. Rev.
