Departed this life September 1, 1930, aged 80 years, 1 month, and 8 days. She is survived by her husband, William Putman, and the following children: Melissa Myers, John Putman, and William Putman, also nineteen grand-children and nine great grandchildren, and also two brothers, Adam Nicholson, of Confluence,Pa, and Simon Nicholson of Berlin, Pa. She united with the Mt Zion United Brethren Church in her girlhood days and remained faithful to "Jesus Christ", to her family and neighbors. Conscious to the end. Talking to her husband as she stepped in the Heavenly Chariot -- to take the greatest, the safest, the most thrilling as well as the most delightful trip. A trip from Earth to Heaven where God sits on his throne and where Jesus pleads the cause of his people and where they may forever enjoy the fruit of the Spirit, which is Love, Joy, Peace, Long=Suffering, Gentleness, Goodness, Faith, Meekness, and Temperance all swallowed up in a love that never faileth through a boundless Eternity. Funeral services were conducted in the Mt Zion United Bretheran Church at 10 o'clock Thursday morning, September 4th, 1930 by Rev. A.J. Oridge of the First United Brethren Church of Shanksville,Pa. The text, Rev 2nd chapter and 10th verse, Be thou faithful until death and I will give thee a Crown of Life. Catherine was the 12th of this family of 14 to answer Grand Pa Nicholson's prayer in his home and in the place of prayer. It was found in John Wesley's daugher, Mary Katherine's, bible.
