Pyle, 84, of 312 Susquehanna St., Boswell, died Nov. 25, 1976 at home. Born May 12, 1892 in Somerset County, the son of Henry and Mary Alice (Tipton) Pyle. Preceded in death by parents; a son, Bernard G., who died March 12, 1969; three sisters and an infant brother. Survived by widow, the former Edna B. Sheets and these children: Rosella B., wife of Ervin E. Hoar, Boswell; Pauline G., wife of Ralph King, Pittsburgh; H. James, married to the former Shirley J. Bauman, Stoystown RD 1; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Betty A. Pyle, New Cumberland; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren. Was a brother of Arthur, Boswell; William and Harrison, both of Ravenna, Ohio; Mrs. Emma Dixon, Lewistown; Mrs. Margaret Turner, Frostburg, Md.; and Mrs. Ruth Thompson, Erie. Member of Covenant Presbyterian Church, Boswell, and UMW of A. Celebrated 60th wedding anniversary Sept. 28, 1976. Friends received from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday at Joseph G. Hoffman Funeral Home, 409 Main St., Boswell, where service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday with the Rev. William T. Doncaster officiating. Interment, Jenner Crossroads Cemetery.
