Pyle, 76, of Brookville, Pa., died at his residence Oct. 14, 1980. He is survived by his wife, the former Ruth Criss. Born in Somerset, Aug. 24, 1904, son of the late John H. and Elizabeth (Yoder) Pyle. Survived by one son, Perry "Butch," Pompano Beach, Fla.; two daughters: Mrs. Charles (Joyce "Josey") Herron, Jacksonville, Fla.; Mrs. Ernie (Donwydette "Dumpy") McPherson, Brookville; one brother, Lester of Somerset; 12 grandchildren, one great-grandchild. Preceded in death by two sisters. He was a pastor for 53 years. For the last 45 years he was a World Evangelist. He was a pastor for the Evangelical United Methodist Church in Brookville from 1935-45. He held many offices in the Evangelical Church since his retirement. He was a past president of the Evangelical Association. He was a pastor at Cherry Tree Evangelical United Methodist Church in 1931, also the Johnstown Cooper Ave. church from 1931-35. He was a member of Kiwanis in Brookville. He was married June 1, 1927, in Baine Bridge, Mich., by the Rev. Lewis E. Burgess, who was his seminary roommate. Viewing will be at the Terry L. Beamer Funeral Home in Brookville until Friday when a service will be held at 2 p.m. in the Evangelical United Methodist Church. On Saturday, viewing will be at the Grace United Methodist Church in Somerset from 12 to 1 p.m., time of service with the Rev. Marlin Miller. Interment, Addison Cemetery.
