Queer, 76, of Berlin, died Jan. 14, 2000, at Somerset Hospital. Born July 21, 1923, in Berlin, son of Myron and Mamie Mae" (Rose) Queer. Preceded in death by parents, first wife, the former Dorothy Brawner, and son, Patrick. Survived by his wife, the former Mary Elizabeth Werner, and these children: Donald E., married to the former Barbara Peak, Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; Ronald IL., married to the former Sandra Klein, Pasadena, Md.; Blane L. Quinn, married to the former Bonnie Mickey, and Pamela K., married to Wesley Turinsky, all of Berlin; grandchildren: Veronica Stout, Latonia, Jay, and David Queer, Amy Jo and Kevin Quinn, Nicole and Adam Turinsky; great-grandchildren; twins Josephine and Maria Stout, and Lilly Queer; step great-grandchildren: Taylor and Amber. Brother of John Queer; Espyville; Thomas Quinn and Merle Queer, both of Ashland, Ohio; and Evanelle Fox, Linthicum, Md. A 1941 graduate of Berlin Brothersvalley High School. Staff Sergeant in 3rd Army under General Patton in World War II and also served during the Korean Conflict. Former owner and operator of Al's Body Shop Berlin for 20 years. Retired rural mail carrier for R.D. 6, Somerset Lifetime member of Berlin Brethren Church. Member of V.F.W. Post 7595, American Legion Post 445, and Last Man's Club, all of Berlin, Berlin V.F.D., Berlin Fife and Drum Corp, New Baltimore, Kennell's Mill, and Berlin Sportsmen's Clubs. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., Monday, at Deaner Funeral Home, Berlin, where service will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday. Rev. Owen Preston and Rev. Ralph Landis officiating.
