Queer, 79, of Somerset died Nov. 14, 2003 at Select Specialty Hospital, Johnstown. Born May 18, 1924 in Friendsville, Md. a daughter of James Roy and Oma Mae (Fisher) Fike. Preceded in death by parents; husband, Claude Edward Queer who died Oct. 1, 1988; grandson, Devon Kimmel; brother, O. Paul Fike; sister, Vallie Mostoller. Survived by children: Mrs. Joseph (Donna) Messina of Sterling, Va., Mrs. Margie Kimmel of Carlisle, Claude E. Queer Jr. of Brisbane, Australia, Mrs. William (Pamela) Lorentz of Sterling, Va., Timothy A. Fike and wife, Donna of Quecreek; eight grandchildren: Scott and Steven Messina of Sterling, Va., Erica Kimmel Baucom of Rock Hill, S.C., Brian Kimmel of Pittsburgh, Garrett and Justin Queer of Brisbane, Australia, Robert Lorentz of Sterling, Va., Kendra Custer of Quecreek: two great-grandchildren, Tony and Ashley Messina. Sister of Foster Fike of Somerset and Robert Fike of Madison, Ohio. Member of First Christian Church. A 1942 graduate of Somerset High School. Past president of Somerset Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary. She was an avid bingo player. Co-owner with her husband of the former Fike Plumbing & Heating of Somerset. Friends received from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home where service will be conducted 10 a.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Daniel F. Nicksich officiating.
