RAE Mrs. Isabelle H. Rae, widow of William J. Rae, passed away, after a long illness, at the home of her daughter, Miss Lorraine Rae, Dec. 7. Her body was brought to her home town, Meyersdale, by W. C. Price & Son, morticians, to be prepared for burial. Funeral services were held at the Price mortuary at 2:30 this (Thursday) afternoon, the rites being conducted by Rev. T. R. Thomas, pastor of the First Methodist Church of which she had long been a member. Interment was made in Union Cemetery in the family plot, where her husband was laid to rest on May 30, 1939. Mrs. Rae was born in Frostburg, Md., Sept. 27, 1876, and spent most of the 67 years of her life in the Meyersdale community. She was the daughter of John and Eliza (Evans) Brimlow. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Lawrence Geisbert, Acosta; Miss Lorraine Rae, Columbus, O.; and Mrs. Charles L. Stret, San Diego, Cal.; one son, George W. Rae, Harrisburg; one brother, Charles Brimlow, Frostburg, and one sister, Mrs. Alice Alexander, Lonaconing, Md. Mrs. Rae came to the Meyersdale community soon after her marriage to the late William J. ("Wallie") Rae, May 27, 1895, and resided here since, except during several years when her husband was employed by the Commonwealth in Harrisburg, where they made their home temporarily. Both Mr. and Mrs. Rae were faithful members of the First Methodist Church during the many years they lived here. They were a happy and congenial couple and numbered their friends by the hundreds. Mrs. Rae was for many years an active member of the Meyersdale W.C.T.U. After the sudden death of her husband from a heart attack at the home of friends in Frostburg, on May 26, 1939, following his arrival there on a business mission, Mrs. Rae continued to live alone in their apartment in the Paul Koontz home at Vim, until about two years ago when she moved into the Shipley apartments in Meyersdale. During the last few years of her life, her health was failing. Several months ago she became a patient in the Memorial Hospital, Cumberland, and after several weeks there she was removed to Acosta to the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Geisbert, who cared for her until she felt able to return to her apartment in Meyersdale a few weeks ago. After her return here, her daughter, Lorraine, came to visit her and finding her health still in critical condition, had her removed to her home in Columbus, O., where she could better care for her, but death ensued within a week after her transfer to Columbus. Miss Rae accompanied the body of her mother to Meyersdale to remain until after the funeral. Mrs. Geisbert and daughters also attended the funeral as did the daughter-in-law, Mrs. George W. Rae of Harrisburg. A number of other relatives and friends attended the obsequies also, and quite a number of relatives expressed their love and respect with flowers.
