She was the wife of 43 years of Capt. James. P. Randle, USCG (ret.). Born in Philadelphia, Nov. 5, 1927, Mrs. Randle was a daughter of the late Ambrose Russell and Norine Minerva Hess Flanigan. She earned her BA and MA degrees from the University of Maryland. She taught English and Drama at Takoma Park Junior High and Tilden Middle School in Montgomery County until her retirement in 1986. Under her maiden name, Jeanne Flanigan, made her Broadway debut in 1949 in the play, "Goodby My Fancy" starring Madeline Carroll. She worked with Kay Francis in several summer stock productions and played roles in the national touring companies of "The Philadelphia Story" and "Dear Ruth." She also appeared in stage, radio and television productions with actors Claude Raines, Karl Malden and Melvin Douglas. Member of All Saints Episcopal Church and the Worman's Mill Civic Association. A docent of the Historical Society of Frederick County. Surviving in addition to her husband, and three sons, James Randle and his wife, Joyce Zellweger Randle of Alexandria, Va., Russell Randle and wife, Julia E. Randle, of Arlington, Va., and Jonathan Randle, Silver Spring, two brothers, Ambrose Russell Flanigan, Bristol, Pa., and Robert P. Flanigan of Lighthouse Point, Fla., one sister, Annafaye Lynch, Philadelphia and five grandchildren, Katherine E. Randle, Sarah P. Randle, James M. Randle, Meredith J. Randle and Stephen R. Randle. Family will receive friends at the Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 East Church St., Frederick, from 7 - 9 p.m. Sunday. Funeral services held at 1 p.m. Monday, All Saints Episcopal Church, 108 W. Church St. The Rev. James R. Seale, rector of the church will officiate. Interment in the Mount Olivet Cemetery, Frederick.
