GEORGE NELSON RANEL

  George Nelson Ranel died at his home in New Beuna Vista, Bedford County, Pa., 
Sunday, Dec. 24, 1944, at the age of 57 years and three months.  He was born in 
Somerset County, Sept. 25, 1887.
  He was twice married, his first wife being Lulu Keller; his second wife, the 
former Edna Shaffer, whom he married May 11, 1944, survives.
  The following children also survive: Clyde, Meyersdale; Elwood, Rummel; Mrs. 
David Boozer, New Beuna Vista; Russell, Buffalo Mills; Mrs. Daniel Robinette and 
Mrs. Harold Robinette, Cumberland; Emma and Ben, at home.
  Three half-brothers and a half-sister also survive - Saul Brant, Meyersdale; 
Harvey and Milton Brant and Mrs. Effie Grenke, all of Akron, Ohio.
  He was a member of the Mt. Zion Reformed Church, near Glen Savage.  Funeral 
services were conducted at 2:30 on Wednesday afternoon at Mt. Zion Lutheran 
Church, with Rev. Wilt officiating.  Interment was made in the church cemetery, 
with arrangements in charge of Zigler's Funeral Home, Hyndman.
