RANKER Raymond C Ranker, 68, of Ellerslie, MD, died Sunday, March 4, 1990, at the Veteran's Administration Medical Center in Martinsburg, W.Va. Born June 28, 1921, in Hyndman, he was the son of the late Alonzia and Listie (Huffman) Ranker. He was preceded in death by three brothers. He retired following 20 years of service from the Curry Lumber Company in Barrelville. He served in the army in the Pacific Theatre in World War II. Surviving are three sons, Clair Ranker and Ryan Ranker, Ellerslie, MD; and Nathan Ranker, Cumberland, MD; five daughters, Karen Sue Carder, Mount Savage, MD; Dianne Emmons and Wendyl Katrows, Martinsburg, W.Va.; Judith Merkel, Fairhope; and Faith Ranker, Cumberland, MD; two brothers, Norman Ranker, Ravenna, Ohio; and Stanley Ranker, Akron, Ohio, one sister, Geraldine Knotts, Akron, OH; and 14 grandchildren. Friends were received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday. Services will be held there Thursday at 2 p.m. by the Rev. Dennis E. Dorsch. Interment will be in Lybarger Cemetery in Madley, Pa. Pallbearers and graveside military honors will be accorded by the Fort Bedford Honor Guard and the Hyndman VFW Oscar Jordon Post 7375.
