  Mary E. Rankin, 78, of Friedens, died Aug. 5, 2001 at Somerset Hospital.
  Born July 9, 1923 in Stonycreek Township, daughter of Charles G. and Edith
  (Trent) Peck.  Preceded in death by parents; husband Billy, Aug. 5, 1970;
  brothers Calvin, Ken and Bill Zufall; sisters Anne Zufall, Eva Hansen,
  Gladys Sible and Twila Zwick.  Survived by these children: Mark, married to
  the former Susan Brant of Friedens, Sally, married to Edward Howe of
  Richmond, Va., and Allen of Jennerstown; and grandchildren Colbie Baker and
  Jarred and Jocelyn Rankin.  Graduate of Somerset Township High School.
  Retired from Gilmour Manufacturing, Somerset.  A life-long member of
  Friedens Lutheran Church.  Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to
  9 p.m. Tuesday at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown.  Viewing from 10 a.m.
  until service 11 a.m. Wednesday at Friedens Lutheran Church, Rev. Edward V.
  DeVore officiating.  Interment Church Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers
  contributions may be given to Friedens Lutheran Church, Friedens, Pa. 15541.
