She was united in marriage to F. L. Rardin on March 25, 1902, at Beloit, Kansas. They immediately began housekeeping in Scottsville, Kansas, where they resided continuously until her death on Saturday, May 16, 1931. She had been under medical treatment for four years, but had been able to attend to her usual duties until a few weeks ago when she became seriously ill and passed away within a fortnight after taking to her bed. She leaves to mourn her loss, her husband, three sisters and one brother: Mrs. Minnie Motes, of Beloit, Mrs. Emma Motes, Mrs. Mary Abernathy and Lloyd Ringer, of Scottsville; three nephews, one niece, other relatives and a host of friends. Mrs. Rardin united with the Lutheran Church in childhood and was an active worker in the Presbyterian Church and Sunday School of Scottsville. She was secretary-treasurer of the Friendship Sunday school class since its organization in 1902, faithfully performing the duties of that office till the last. She was a member of Rebekah Lodge, No. 58, Beloit. Mrs. Rardin was a loving wife and sister whose chief interest was her home, and the betterment of her community. She lived her life well and carried the highest respect of the community in general and the love of those who knew her best. Her passing brings sorrow to a host of relatives and friends who find solace in the knowledge that she has gone to a rest and reward in keeping with the fine life she lived on earth. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. J. R. Jones, Monday afternoon, in the Presbyterian church. Interment in the Scottsville Cemetery. Meyersdale Republican, May 28, 1931
