All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/somerset/ ________________________________________________ CATHERINE HOUSEL RAUPACH Mrs. Catherine Housel Raupach died in St. Francis Hospital, Pittsburgh, Tuesday, August 13, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident two months ago. Mrs. Raupach sustained a fractured thigh in the accident which occurred about two miles east of Meyersdale. For a time she was a patient in a local hospital and later was removed to the Somerset Community Hospital. A week ago she was taken to the Pittsburgh institution. Mrs. Raupach was born in Meyersdale, March 2, 1900, and at the time of her death was 40 years, 5 months and 11 days of age. She was the youngest daughter of U. M. and Barbara Ellen (Shumaker) Housel. Surviving besides her husband, William A. Raupach, three sisters, Mrs. William McKillop, Pittsburgh; Mrs. Philip Beeson, Akron, Ohio, and Mrs. Frank C. Robertson, Meyersdale, and a brother, Kenneth Housel, of Canton, Ohio. Four stepsons also survive - J. William, Rockwood; Kenneth W., Cleveland, Ohio; Robert O., and Wayne A., both at home, and one stepdaughter, Mrs. William Custer, Rockwood. Six step-grandchildren also survive. A sister, Miss Anna Housel, a former clerk in the Meyersdale postoffice, preceded her in death. Funeral services will be held this Friday morning at 10:30 at the home of her sister, Mrs. Frank Robertson, Lincoln Avenue, Dr. B. A. Black will officiate at the service. Interment will be made in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Rockwood, immediately following the service, under the direction of W. C. Price & Son, local morticians. Meyersdale Republican, August 15, 1940
