ADA NEWMAN RAVENSCROFT

Garrett County, Maryland

  Mrs. Ada Newman Ravenscroft, aged 78, wife of William Ravenscroft, died at her 
home in the Mt. Zion section Saturday, June 22, following a stroke of paralysis.  
She had been ill for several years.  Mrs. Ravenscroft was born Feb. 14, 1867, 
near State Line, a daughter of Henry and Barbara Newman.
  Surviving are her husband, one daughter, Mrs. Nellie Simpkins, and one son, 
Henry Fay Ravenscroft, both at home, one sister, Mrs. Sadie Shumaker, Mt. Zion, 
and four grandchildren.  She had been a member of the Salisbury (Pa.) 
Evangelical and Reformed Church for many years.
  Funeral services were held at 2:30 o'clock Tuesday afternoon from the Mt. Zion 
church, with her pastor, Rev. A. M. Wright, Salisbury, officiating.  William 
Winterberg, local mortician, was in charge of funeral arrangements and 
supervised interment.
